Ballet at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Lyon. Bern Ballet. Carte Blanche. Batsheva Dance Company. After 20 years as a professional dancer, a new question emerged - the relationship between mind and body. Sensory Movement was born from that research.

Kana Ote is a contemporary dancer and movement teacher originally from Hamamatsu, Japan. She studied Ballet at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon and, after receiving her professional degree, worked with Bern Ballet and Carte Blanche, collaborating throughout her career with internationally acclaimed choreographers. In 2010, she received an artistic research grant from Pola Art Foundation (Japan) to study Gaga with Batsheva Dance Company in Tel Aviv, completing the Gaga Teacher Training Program shortly after. She is also a practitioner of the Ilan Lev method. After over 20 years of professional career as a dancer, she became deeply interested in the relationship between mind and body, continuing to study it from various disciplines. It was in this context that she created Sensory Movement - a class where she shares the knowledge, experiences and research she has acquired. Since 2021 she has been based in Portugal.
Kana Ote é bailarina contemporânea e professora de movimento, originária de Hamamatsu, Japão. Estudou Ballet no Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon e, após receber o seu diploma profissional, trabalhou com o Bern Ballet e a Carte Blanche, colaborando ao longo da sua carreira com coreógrafos de renome internacional. Em 2010, recebeu uma bolsa de investigação artística da Pola Art Foundation (Japão) para estudar Gaga com a Batsheva Dance Company em Telavive, completando posteriormente o programa de formação de professores Gaga. É também praticante do método Ilan Lev. Após mais de 20 anos de carreira profissional como bailarina, tornou-se profundamente interessada na relação entre a mente e o corpo, continuando a explorá-la a partir de várias disciplinas. Foi nesse contexto que criou a classe Sensory Movement, onde partilha o conhecimento, as experiências e a investigação que foi adquirindo. Desde 2021 está baseada em Portugal.
